There is a flush rising underneath this human skin, a joy and excitement that is new and overwhelming.
This body feels strong. It is healthy and alive, not a decaying corpse. The responsiveness of this body is amazing. It's entirely different from what they had been trained to occupy, and that difference is startling.
But welcome. So very welcome.
Borrowed lungs breathe in fresh air. The future is brighter than it has ever been.
